My Story
It was a great day when Steno met Scentsy! I am a busy court stenographer, who works full-time, Monday through Friday and then some. When my sponsor, another stenographer, approached me about Scentsy, I didn’t even know what it was and I had no intentions of getting too deep into it. I only wanted the tax benefit of owning a home-based business. In fact, it took me 3 months to open the box my starter kit came in and place my first order as a consultant and then it took me another 3 months to actually read all of the information that came with the starter kit. The catalogs that came in my kit were two weeks away from being expired before I even passed one out!! But long story short (because I don’t want to hold you too long from shopping LOL), I fell in love with the products, the company culture, and the compensation plan; and not necessarily in that order. I honestly fell in love with the culture of the company first, after attending a local training event.
The room was packed with positive people at that event, mostly women, and the air was full of something I couldn’t put my finger on at the time but I knew I liked it, it made me feel good, and I wanted more of it. I have attended countless professional workshops, seminars, and conventions and none of them have ever given me quite the same can-do feeling as Scentsy. Having attended many other Scentsy events since that first one, I can tell you now that when you’re surrounded by Scentsy Sisters and Brothers, the air is full of hope, motivation, inspiration, and downright determination.
Scentsy brings me joy after a long day in a criminal courtroom, which isn't set up for "happiness," and I look forward to opening those purple and white boxes of every size. I've determined that "giving" is my love language and my first goal is to make sure I do all that I can to help every one of my award-winning team members to find their "sweet spot" with Scentsy as well. I'm the loudest cheerleader you'll ever find.
I recognize that we're all here for a different reason and when I look back on those first six months, sometimes I feel so sad that I wasted all that time. But that memory also serves as a reminder to me that we have the ability to CHOOSE to create our own Happy no matter the situation. And when things smell good, Happy isn’t too far away! Welcome to my Happy Place!
